A bio-based pavilion on wheels by the minor Archineering
During the first weeks of 2025, students in the minor Archineering designed and built a real-size mobile workshop pavilion in The Green Village. As sustainable construction becomes a pressing global issue, the need to rethink material use has never been more urgent. The Archineering minor organised by Stephan Verkuijlen addresses this challenge by teaching students to work with bio-based and reclaimed materials. With a unique blend of theory and hands-on practice, this course explores how materials like hemp-lime, compressed earth bricks, and reclaimed wood can redefine building practices.
